Need a stepping stone into work?

We have a couple of spaces left on our free job skills training programme, starting right away! So if you are a local charity or community group and have a service user who would benefit, please get in touch to refer them- we'd love to welcome them to Page & Bloom.

Our employability training programme has been running since July 2020, and we have worked with lots of women to gain work experience and transferable job skills. We have a limited number of places remaining for this year's programme, so if you know someone who would benefit from a stepping stone into work, please refer them before the end of June.

Who is eligible?

The programme is for women survivors of domestic abuse, who need support to move into, or back into employment. They need to be:

Over 18 years old

Not currently in paid work

Have the right to live and work in the UK

Be able to travel to our studio near Charlton/ Woolwich Dockyard in southeast London

What is the programme?

It is a 6 week programme, for 6 hours per week. The participants will join our small friendly team at our studio and we will give them the opportunity to try out work in different parts of our small business, and help them to gain transferable skills for their CV. These will include:

- Customer service

- Admin

- Office processes and orders

- Website and social media

We will also work with each participant to put together a CV, provide advice about searching and applying for jobs, and practice interviews.

How much does it cost?

The training is free, so there is no cost to the participant. The training is funded by a grant from the European Social Fund and the UK Education & Skills Funding Agency.

Following completion of the 6 week training programme, participants will also have the option to continue with Page & Bloom for a further 6 weeks of paid work experience, which is paid by us at the London Living Wage.

How do I refer someone?

If you have a client or service user who would benefit from this training, please email rosie@pageandbloom.com as soon as possible and we will be in touch to go through the details with you. The deadline for referrals in the current programme is 30 June 2021 and we will be filling places on a first come first served basis. We will also be operating a waiting list for programmes starting later in the year.

Who can refer to us?

Local charities and community groups supporting women survivors of domestic abuse can refer participants to us. For more information about the programme, please contact rosie@pageandbloom.com
